We’re counting down our 12 favorite ‘ships of Christmas!
#5: Ted, Lily, and Marshall from How I Met Your Mother. Sometimes this trio annoys me, but in the season 2 episode How Lily Stole Christmas, I ‘ship, ‘ship, ‘ship them. Recap:
- Lily turns the apartment into a winter wonderland for Marshall (awww).
- Marshall runs all over Manhattan tracking down Lily’s Christmas present—an Easy Bake Oven (awww).
- Marshall admits that he learned about Lily’s desire for an Easy Bake Oven (which her feminist mother had refused to buy her as a child) from Ted, whom Lily told back in college (awww).
- Lily, who has been fighting with Ted, takes an apology beer out to Staten Island and the two make up. Friend ‘ship at its best! (Awww.)
Also, Ted calls Lily a “very, very bad word” Grinch.
